The Uda Walawe National Park is a popular destination in Southern Sri Lanka known for its diverse wildlife and scenic landscapes. One of the best ways to explore the park is through an animal safari, and doing so with your children is an unforgettable experience. The park k is home to a variety of wildlife including elephants, deer, wild boar, water buffalo, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

We spent an afternoon on safari in Uda Walawe National Park (Sri Lanka) and were well rewarded with what we got to see. Our guide was able to provide information about the animals, their behaviors, and help us spot them in the wild. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, it’s recommended to book a safari with an experienced guide who is knowledgeable about the park and its wildlife. Most safari tours are family friendly and can accommodate children of all ages. However, it’s important to note that the park can get hot and dusty, so be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and hats for everyone.

In addition to the wildlife, the park is also known for its scenic landscapes, including rolling hills, grasslands, and the picturesque Walawe River. A safari tour will take you through these different areas, allowing you to appreciate the natural beauty of the park.

Below are some photos of what we got to see! Our favourite discovery was the baby elephant, who, according to our guide, was only 1 week old. The astounding variety of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles was the biggest highlight for our kids on this trip to Sri Lanka.

It looks like it has been a while since you updated the site–are you going to continue the blog? Thanks in advance for feedback on ours: http://otheplaceswellgo.wordpress.com/
